Bitrace Delivers Specialized Training to the Hong Kong Police Force, Empowering Crypto Crime and AML Investigations
Recently, Bitrace conducted a series of professional training sessions for the Hong Kong Police Force, focusing on crypto-related crime and anti-money laundering (AML) investigations. In response to the rapid evolution of the crypto industry and emerging criminal methodologies, Bitrace continues to provide law enforcement authorities with up-to-date investigative and analytical approaches, offering structured and ongoing capacity-building support.
Drawing on its extensive practical experience in crypto crime investigations, on-chain analytics, and risk research, Bitrace addressed common scenarios in which virtual assets are used for money laundering, fraud, and cross-border fund transfers. The sessions systematically shared cutting-edge investigative strategies and hands-on methodologies, assisting officers in more effectively identifying, analyzing, and responding to emerging crypto-related risks.
During the training, Bitrace CEO Isabel SHI delivered a keynote presentation on the latest developments in the crypto market. She provided a comprehensive overview of the evolving virtual asset ecosystem and analyzed real-world cases to illustrate how digital assets are leveraged in crypto crimes and money laundering activities. The session helped participants understand the structural and product-level mechanisms behind risk generation, establishing a macro-level analytical foundation for subsequent investigative work.

In addition, Bitrace Senior Investigative Analyst Plume offered an in-depth discussion on the overall framework and methodology of on-chain investigations, based on emerging crypto crime cases in recent years. By dissecting real-world fund flows and behavioral patterns, the session outlined analytical frameworks and practical considerations for conducting investigations in complex, multi-chain environments. This enabled participants to strengthen their capabilities in handling cases that are increasingly sophisticated and concealed.
Upon completion of the program, Bitrace awarded certificates of completion to key participants in recognition of their achievement of the required professional standards in technical expertise and compliance awareness.
As Hong Kong continues to advance its vision of becoming an international virtual asset hub, local demand for professionals equipped with digital asset compliance and on-chain risk management capabilities has grown significantly. Against the backdrop of deepening global digital asset regulation and the evolving nature of on-chain risks, Bitrace plans to officially launch a dedicated training program this year for corporate compliance and risk management professionals.
The program will be guided by regulatory requirements and grounded in real-world risk scenarios. It systematically integrates on-chain data analytics capabilities, risk identification methodologies, and compliance practice frameworks. The initiative aims to support financial institutions, virtual asset service providers (VASPs), and related enterprises in strengthening compliance governance, enhancing risk monitoring standards, and improving internal control mechanisms.
The training curriculum includes, but is not limited to:
- Global digital asset regulatory trends and interpretation of on-chain illicit activity data
- Core AML / KYT methodologies and risk scoring system design
- Identification logic for high-risk typologies, including fraud, hacking, illegal gambling, and sanctions violations
- Design of on-chain risk early-warning models and real-time monitoring mechanisms
- Suspicious transaction identification, fund flow tracing, and evidence preservation methodologies
Through a combination of data analysis, case studies, and practical exercises, the program helps enterprises build a closed-loop management capability—from risk identification to compliance response—enabling a balanced approach between regulatory compliance and business development.
Bitrace will continue to leverage technology and research as its foundation, deepening collaboration with law enforcement authorities and industry partners to jointly address the evolving challenges of financial crime in the era of virtual assets.
